Inour critic George Soules read Animal Farm with disgust, calling the book "on the whole dull a creaking machine clumsy." We imagine he may have lived to regret these judgments.

George Orwell in his critical writings shows imagination and taste; his wit is both edged and human. This book is set in a future when animals are much cleverer than now. And because of their cleverness, the pigs started a revolution against the humans. Pigs could speak fluently in English unlike.
